Since 2004, the Wisconsin Conservation Professional Development and Training Program has provided basic, intermediate and advanced technical training to more than 500 of our Conservation Advisors - both from the private sector (CCA's, TSPs, PE's, drainage contractors) and from the public sector (NRCS, LCD, DATCP, DNR and other agency staff). Our training sessions not only build and enhance technical and conservation marketing skills, but provide you with the tools to help landowners and farmers protect our soil and water quality. This knowledge and experience increases both your value as an employee and your ability to provide assistance to landowners.

Individuals trained have written and provided more than 1,400 individual CNMP, Grazing, Pest Management or Conservation Plans to Wisconsin landowners in the past three years. Our focused technical sessions (on topics such as drainage, hydric soils, karst management and pest management) link Conservation Advisors with some of the top technical experts, providing the most up to date, research based knowledge tailored to your needs.

Combined with the resources of the Regional Training Program, we are your best source for the training you need to succeed.

"The benefits for Wisconsin NRCS have been the access to quality educational professionals who are knowledgeable in adult learning strategies and who are leaders in their fields of study vs. having an agency staff person simply recite the content of generalized training materials. Reduces workload for NRCS specialists by allowing them to focus on presenting the policy and procedures that we must address without being responsible for all of the general content information that we used to have to present."
